The term "Artificial Intelligence" was coined in 1956 by John McCarthy, Marvin Minsky, Nathaniel Rochester, and Claude Shannon at the Dartmouth Conference. These four individuals, along with other researchers in the field, are often considered to be the founders of the field of Artificial Intelligence.


However, it's important to note that the development of AI was the result of the work of many researchers and scientists over many decades. Some of the key figures who contributed to the development of AI include Alan Turing, who proposed the concept of a universal machine that could simulate any algorithm; Warren McCulloch and Walter Pitts, who developed the first mathematical model of a neural network; and Frank Rosenblatt, who developed the first practical neural network algorithm.

So while John McCarthy, Marvin Minsky, Nathaniel Rochester, and Claude Shannon are often credited with coining the term "Artificial Intelligence," the development of AI was the result of the work of many individuals over many years.
